Best science schools in the Albany, New York region

Bethlehem Central School District in Albany County leads the region this year as the top district for science.


Bethlehem was closely followed by Argyle Central School District in Washington County and Hunter-Tannersville Central School District in Greene County.


The science rankings are being released today as part of the run up to the release of the 2014 Schools Report on Friday, June 27. The Albany Business Review used state Education Department data to analyze science scores from 85 school districts in the 11-county region. The science rankings are based on fourth and eighth grade test scores, as well as scores from science Regents exams.


Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District in Saratoga County ranked eighth on this year's science rankings. The district offers a three-year science research program that allows students to research, collect data, publish and present their findings on a topic of their choice.
