The launch of the Antares rocket from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia may be visible in D.C. this evening.
Orbital Sciences' rocket - which 'will carry Orbital's Cygnus cargo spacecraft, loaded with some 5,000 pounds of supplies and experiments, to the International Space Station' - is scheduled to launch at 6:45 p.m. today. Weather permitting, D.C. should be able to see the rocket approximately 180 seconds after launch. Coverage of the mission begins at noon and will be live-streamed here.
Our own Pablo Maurer will be on the scene and will have a full report this week.
