(Lander, Wyo.) - The Lander Valley High School Astronomy Club observed the lunar eclipse yesterday morning at just south of Lander near Speyer Drive. Students observed the eclipse through telescopes and took over 700 pictures, LVHS's Joseph Hardy said.
The best images were selected and then compiled into a single composite image. No modifications were made to the images save compiling them into a single image.

The Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles trained its telescope on the moon for the event, then made this wonderful one-minute video out of five and a half hours of footage: The sudden flick from white to red in the video occurs because the Griffith staff adjusted the "gain" on their camera, making it more sensitive to light.
