SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Astronomy enthusiasts will soon be able to enjoy heavenly bodies at a new University of Utah center.
The university's new Astronomy Outreach Center will open Wednesday night with an open house, lecture and star observation party.
Members of the public will also be able to use solar telescopes at the event.
The center includes a new, permanent space for stargazing parties and astronomy presentations.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1pxI8sp) it will also serve as the base for remote operation of the university's Willard L. Eccles Observatory.
The observatory is located on southern Utah's Frisco Peak, near the city of Milford.
